Charles Strickland has been involved in the development, construction, sales, marketing and merchandising of nearly 4,000 dwelling units and related site work and infrastructure improvements. Whether he is developing a new vision for the Company, looking for new development opportunities, or leading the development and marketing of a new community, he always strives to deliver the best product in the best location at the best value.
His professional career includes eight years with First Union National Bank (now Wachovia/Wells Fargo), one of America’s largest financial institutions. During his tenure there, he was a Regional Vice President of First Union Mortgage Corporation and a Vice President in the Corporate Banking Group of First Union National Bank, with emphasis on real estate lending including land acquisition and development loans, income property loans, home mortgage loans and problem loan workouts for troubled real estate assets.
In 1979 he joined a Charlotte developer of luxury condominiums and became executive vice president and chief operating officer. He has also been Charlotte division manager and project manager for two of the country’s largest homebuilders. He formed his own company in 1982 which has operated as The Colville Company since 1996.
Mr. Strickland’s personal values of attention to detail, responsiveness to customer needs, constant process improvement, focused site selection and classic aesthetic standards have resulted in outstanding success for the Company in the competitive Charlotte marketplace.
